During the 3-year project, CRAFT-OA produced a variety of results:

  • Key Exploitable Results: As a Horizon Europe project, CRAFT-OA was required to identify its “Key Exploitable Results” (KERs). According to the European Commision, a result is defined as: “Any tangible or intangible output of the action, such as data, knowledge and information whatever their form or nature, whether or not they can be protected, which are generated in the action as well as any attached rights, including intellectual property rights”. A Key Exploitable Result (KER) is an identified main interesting result (as defined above) which has been selected and prioritised due to its high potential to be “exploited” – meaning to make use and derive benefits- downstream the value chain of a product, process or solution, or act as an important input to policy, further research or education. The following criteria are used to select the KERs: a) degree of innovation, b) exploitability, and c) impact.
  • Deliverables: All project results are submitted to the European Commission through “deliverables”. The deliverables for the project were planned and included in the project proposal and in the grant agreement. The deliverables may be reports describing key information about the project and actions taken within it, or they may be actions themselves, such as Policy Briefs.
  • Scientific Publications: During the course of the project, specific results are written about and published as peer-reviewed research articles or other scholarly publications in journals or other scholarly platforms.
  • Trainings & Workshops: The need for training the Diamond Open Access publishing community was thoroughly investigated in the CRAFT-OA project. This resulted in the development of a training curriculum, and, where possible, the CRAFT-OA also delivered training sessions and materials to fill the needs identified in the curriculum.
  • CRAFT-OA event recordings: When possible, CRAFT-OA training sessions and webinars were recorded.
  • Zenodo Community: Zenodo is a free, open-access online repository for research outputs, where all CRAFT-OA “deliverables” and other outputs are published with a Digital Object Identifier (DOI). CRAFT-OA has its own “community” to make all related materials easy to find.
  • Technical Outputs: Many of CRAFT-OA technical outputs are stored in the OPERAS GitHub account. GitHub is a cloud-based platform that allows developers to host, store, and manage their code and projects.

The CRAFT-OA project (2023-2025) helped lay the foundation for the European Diamond Capacity Hub (EDCH), where all its results are integrated. After December 2025, no further information will be added to this website. To stay connected to the Diamond Open Access European community, please join the EDCH Registry & Forum (the Registry is for organisations; the forum is for individuals) and follow the EDCH social media channels.
